Easter Bunny Came!

Well, despite the fact that Bridget tried her very best to stay up and catch the Easter Bunny- she was sleeping soundly and missed him! (even when he hid eggs in her room!) Now, the Easter Bunny had to be at our house pretty darn early to be ahead of these girls! They are professional egg hunters in training. We fully expect it to be an Olympic Event someday. After Dark Egg Hunt 2008!

Last night was the first ever Abplanalp After Dark Egg Hunt at our house. I got the idea while cruising the isles of Wal-Mart and seeing glow-in-the-dark eggs for night hunts. I thought, "what a great idea"! But those particular eggs were fairly spendy, so I thought why not just use regular eggs and have everyone bring their flashlight?? Hmmm. So the next day I made up invitations and Bree took them to school and Tom and Bree invited the youth from our ward at church. So last night, we ended up with about 20 teenagers at our house ready to go. There was a $25 gift card to movies for the person who found the most eggs. (pretty good incentive) Treena Hoover won with 54, excuse me, 55 eggs! I forgot to mention that each person attending was also asked to bring 1 dozen filled eggs with them. I provided about 200 filled eggs, so that way I knew that no matter how many kids showed up, we'd have enough eggs. Tom, who was supposed to be my main right hand man, was down for the count. He had been up the whole night before with a toothache and had spent the day at the dentist and endodontist. That's a whole 'nother story, but he's resting comfortably with a swollen cheek and some percoset. Luckily the missionaries showed up just in time to help me hide that huge bag of eggs!
