Sliders vs. Dynamite

I know all of you Sliders fans have been waiting on pins and needles to hear the outcome of our most recent game. Final score 9-6 them......but keep reading. Here are some highlights. Parri Jo Brunson had a beautiful score, but fell after taking the shot so it didn't count :( Despite pulling her quad again, she played through the pain and kept the family name in good standing. Ashley Frandsen had 2 smokin' goals and Nikki Chesley with the hat trick baby! I also scored, but it was not the exciting smoking shot I was hoping for. I was in good follow up position and the ball hit off my body and into the goal. But hey, we'll take every goal we can get. I did however, accidentally totally mow this gal over Mack truck style. Tiffani Frandsen back after hospital leave filled in at forward and put us all to shame. Kulani Hyde was a brick wall in the goal...amazing really. Our defense showed tremendous improvement on field position and passing. Misty Kim just refused to let the Dynamite gals past her, her experience has proved a great profit for the team. Our 3 newbies (Gwen, Bonnie and Melinda) were aggressive and formidable. I should mention our 2 self-appointed assistant coaches, they were key members in the box: Stan Palmer and Tom Chesley. Never ones to miss out on a moment of action!
Still no pics to share. The person I assigned this task (you know who you are) was so into the action that they forgot to take a single pic. So, hopefully next week. Stay tuned....next update coming next Friday!

The Pirate's Life for Me.....Aaaargh!

Well, she's the cutest pirate I've ever seen, but where did we get her??? Baylee's class took a field trip today to the Seattle Aquarium and these things are the souvenirs she brought home!???? You can imagine why her aunt Parri nicknamed her "Hollywood"! This girl's got spunk!

Sliders vs. Lightning Girl

Ok, so we (the Sliders) had our first soccer game last night. We lost :( However, this was not wholly unexpected. Only 1 of our gals has played an indoor soccer game before and we lost 2 of our players last minute to injury and son in hospital. I was really impressed by the 3 women on our team that have never played soccer before in their lives, they are picking it up pretty quickly. Anyhow, you are saying "Paije, what is with the title of this posting?" Yes, I'm getting there. Well, it turns out that the team we played last night is supposed to be one of the hardest in our league. One of their players was just drafted to a Professional Canadian Women's team. Yup, you heard me right. Anyhow, I was calling her Lightning Girl (for obvious reasons). And yes, she schooled me a few times. Ok, ok...more than a few. She was really just toying with me. I would've liked to have hated her, but she really was one of the nicest gals you'd ever meet. I wish her the best of luck in Canada....and good riddance. Parri scored a goal and I had an assist to Nikki who scored. So at least we didn't end with a big goose egg. Despite the clear lopsided-ness of the score (the scoreboard read 7-2 although they actually scored a few more than that) We really had a blast!! I'm sorry that I don't have any pics to share, but maybe next time. Thanks to all of our fans who were there!!! Wish us luck next week! Paije
